Al-Makura in trouble: One Dies as Policeman Opens Fire on 4 Workers during NLC President’s Meeting with Al-Makura

Police in Nasarawa State on Friday allegedly shot four workers as the Nigeria Labour Congress began talks with the State Government over the protracted labour crisis rocking the state.
NLC President Ayuba Wabba told newsmen at the Police Clinic in Lafia that the workers were allegedly shot by a policeman at the gate of the Government House where they had gone to await the outcome of the NLC meeting with Gov. Umaru Al-Makura.

Workers in the state had embarked on an indefinite strike following the decision of the state government to slash their salary by 50 per cent.
According to Wabba, one of the workers has died, while three others, including a lady are being treated for gun shot wounds at the clinic.
He said the dead victim was a staff of the state Ministry of Education, while the three others who sustained gunshot wounds included a staff of Doma Local Government Council, the Judicial Service Commission and a journalist with the defunct Nigerian Newsday, a state-owned media outfit.
“The workers were unarmed and peacefully protesting for their rights only to be shot at by policemen stationed at the government house gate.
“We do not know what prompted them to shoot at unarmed workers who were waiting for us to finish discussion with the state government over the issue of their emoluments.
“They were attacked with maximum force. You can see one dead, two critically injured. They were very peaceful, unfortunately the police, under whatever pretence opened fire. It is most unfortunate,” he said.
Wabba said when the NLC officials got wind of the incidence and approached the Commissioner of Police, Abubakar Bello, he said there was no casualty.
The NLC boss, therefore, called on the police authority to fish out those responsible for the shooting or face a nationwide protest by the congress.
“The rules of engagement in such a situation must be adhered to as everybody around the world has a right to protest. These workers have a right under the law,” he said.
Wabba appealed to workers to remain calm and law abiding as the national leadership would take up the issue and will inform them on the next line of action.
Reacting over the alleged shooting, the Commissioner of Police, Abubakar Bello, said he was yet to be briefed as he was attending the meeting between NLC and the state government.
He said the command would investigate to ascertain what really transpired.

ONE LITTLE GIRL: an interesting story of a shoe Addict

I find Imelda Marcos story very interesting. Thought of sharing. Enjoy ONE LITTLE GIRL  Once upon a time there was a little girl. She was a beautiful little girl, everyone agreed. She had dark hair, pale skin and almond eyes. And she sang like an angel. Everyone agreed on that too. Until she was 10 our little girl lived in the big city. It was a sprawling, bustling, filthy place. She lived in a hovel. Well, it wasn’t so much a hovel as a rundown garage. And, when the wind blew at night, the doors and shutters creaked and banged and she was very afraid. And every year when the fierce monsoon rains wreaked their vengeance on the earth the floor of the garage flooded and the little girl’s bare feet were cold and wet. One night in a fearsome storm our little girls’ mummy died – “of pneumonia”, they said, but our little girl didn’t understand. And so she and her widowed father and her five brothers and sisters left the garage in the big city and went to live on a tropical island. A

Linda Ikeji got caught trying to pass off a birkin knock off as the real thing and started coming at people for noticing. Linda herself has spotted Nigeria celebs carrying fake Chanel Lego clutch bags back in 2013 and that created a lot of social media drama and that is the same kind of drama that was generated during her Hermes Birkin saga. READ:  “I’m Too Rich To Buy Fake…” Here are some pictures to differentiate between the real bag and a knock off and original prizes. It should be noted that the replicas can be sold for the same prize and the difference is not usually obvious.
