If you've got taste for good music, then you can identify that this is a huge talent.  Meet Tobi Jazz, 'the man with the sax' on this exclusive interview. He is the producer of Oyin Ni and the recent Name of Jesus making waves.

The NAME OF JESUS is written, composed and performed by Ayoola Tobi popularly called TOBI JAZZ, featured and Produced by KUNLEXTRA in accordance with the word of God which says , "And He has given him the name above other namyes, at the mention of the name Jesus every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that he is lord". Also according to John 14 :13 & 14 it says "Whatsoever ye shall  ask in the name of Jesus  that he will do".
 All what we need is in Jesus and his name only if we can access him today.

Can we meet you please?
I am Ayoola Tobi popularly called Tobi jazz, the first in the family of 4. I started m music career as far back as 1996. I went professional in 2003.

Which instruments do you play?
I play sax and other wind instruments. I started with trumpet and keybo
ard before graduating to saxophone.

What was the first tune(s) you learned?
'Jesus na You be Oga' was the first tune I learned

Is your family musical?
Of course , we are. Music runs in our blood

 Describe your family member's musical interests and abilities.
Our musical interest is mainly on singing and playing instruments. My younger brother plays sax and sings too. My sisters sing also with little idea on instruments playing.

Which famous musicians do you admire? Why?
I admire Nathaniel Bassey ...Geeez, that guy inspires me. The good thing about him is his unique style of music. Music these days are profit oriented hence, musicians tend to change from style to style in order to sell. Our Music should entertain, give messages and share experiences of life. That way, we can last.

Which famous musicians have you learnt from?
I learnt majorly from Herbert Kunle Ajayi

 Who was your first teacher? Other teachers? 
As weird as it may sound, I thought myself

Do you perform in public? Describe those occasions? Concerts, radio, TV..
Yes I do. I perform in concerts, dinners, birthdays and also radio.

Do you play for dances? Step-dancers? 
No, I dont. My style is different



How do you handle mistakes during a performance?
We are humans and mistake is normal. I make sure I act as if nothing happened. I don't allow mistake distract my audience



Do you get nervous before a performance or a competition?
No. I've outgrown that.

What advice would you give to beginners who are nervous?
Dear aspiring stars. It's easy for the spotlight to shine on you. Get your vision clear and put God first.


How often and for how long do you practice?
I don't miss my rehearsals. I practice every day at least for 30 minutes



What do you practice - exercises, new tunes, hard tunes, etc.?
I practice both hard tunes and new tunes

Do you teach music?
Yes I teach music. I have tutored a lot.

How do you balance your music with other obligation
Well, God has been helping me.

What are your hobbies?
I love research, I love surfing the internet, I Love repairing and creating things in issues of life and music also.

Sokoto state government has given approval for the transfer, back home, of 39 of its citizens currently in various schools in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates. In today’s exchange rate, the move will enable the government save over N500m from the policy.
