Pope Francis has condemned the killing of 50 people at a g@y club in Orlando which happened early hours of this morning. In what is the first roll-out of its N500Bn social investment programmes, the Buhari presidency will start taking applications online for positions in the 500,000 direct teacher jobs scheme, through an internet portal named npower.gov.ng. Media aide to the Vice-President, ‘Laolu Akande, in a statement, said: “The N-Power Teacher Corps initiative which will engage and train 500,000 young unemployed graduates, is a paid volunteer programme of a 2-year duration.” He said while the portal would be live on Saturday June 11, applications are expected to start coming in on June 12, the beginning of next week. Former Super Eagles player, captain and coach, Stephen Keshi, is dead. He died suddenly Wednesday morning in Nigeria at the age of 54. Sources said his death was shocking as he spoke with several of his friends, including sports journalists and editors, from Benin City, Edo State, on Tuesday. Keshi,  who lost his wife, Kate, last year, was said to be planning to return to his base in the United States of America on Wednesday (today). His family confirmed the development in a statement. Isah Caroline  The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has deployed additional aircraft to the Niger Delta in support of the military operations code named “OPERATION PULO SHIELD” against militancy, economic sabotage and all forms of criminalities in the South-South region of the Country. The deployment, according to Airforce spokesman, Group Capt. Ayodele Famuyiwa, was necessitated by the recent spate of attacks on the Nation’s oil and gas installations by the new militant group, Niger Delta Avengers (NDA). He said  the additional platforms, comprising fighter aircraft, helicopter gunship and surveillance aircraft, are intended to enhance the capability of the NAF to undertake offensive air operations and intelligence gathering in support of the surfaces forces.
