In January, after he won the Headies Next rated category, beating the likes of Cynthia Morgan and Lil Kesh, fans took to social media to make comparisons between him and Lil Kesh.

The new album will feature big names in the industry, and also international actsrelease of his debut album entitled "Oluwa Ni".

Banks, who won Next Rated award at 2015 The Headies is set to release his first album as a recording act under the tutelage of the Supreme Mavins Dynasty led by Don Jazzy.

Although a release date is yet to be announced, the singer's upcoming album will include collaborations with Nigerian and international acts.
Furthermore, songs like 'Kataput', 'Sugar baby', 'Corner', 'Tomorrow', and 'Oluwa ni'are some of the tracks that will make up the 18 track album.

Meanwhile, last Thursday, March 24, 2016, Twitter was agog with a debate over who is a better singer between Reekado Banks andWizkid.
Before the situation could get out of hand, Banks took to his Twitter account and wrote, “Let me clear the air real quick. Wizkid isn’t only my mentor but one of the GREATS who have paved way for the young ones like me,” Reekado Banks tweeted yesterday, adding, “Please dont disrespect Wizkid by comparing him to me wey just dey start abeg.
This is not the first time the ‘Katapot’ singer is being compared to another artiste.
