Girl Contracts HIV from Salon Hair-Weave

FLORIDA – A salon is under investigation after a teenager contracted HIV after getting a hair weave at a the salon.
According to report, the teenager contracted the virus after receiving a popular sewn-in hair style. The procedure of the hair style calls for braiding of the natural hair, then attaching human hair or synthetic hair that is wefted, usually referred to as “tracks”, to the braid using a sewing method including a needle and thread.
According to the teenager, while receiving the sew in weave, her scalp was punctured several times with the needle, causing bleeding in the scalp which later became scab wounds.
“I DIDN’T THINK NOTHING OF IT, IT’S HAPPENED BEFORE WHENEVER I’VE GOTTEN A SEW IN” SAYS THE TEENAGER.
Three weeks after getting the sew in weave, the teenager began to experience flu-like symptoms accompanied with aching muscles and rash, all early symptoms of an HIV infection. The teenage visited a local hospital where several tests were performed and questions were asked. She was released from the hospital.
A week later, I received a call from a nurse urging me to come back to the hospital. “I was in disbelief. Total shock. I kept saying how can I have AIDS. That’s when the nurses asked me several questions and that’s how I remember being wounded with the weave needle” recalls the teen.
The teen and her family, who wish to remain anonymous, have decided to take legal action in a civil suit against the salon for its unsanitary practices.

She had dark hair, pale skin and almond eyes. And she sang like an angel. Everyone agreed on that too. Until she was 10 our little girl lived in the big city. It was a sprawling, bustling, filthy place. She lived in a hovel. Well, it wasn’t so much a hovel as a rundown garage. And, when the wind blew at night, the doors and shutters creaked and banged and she was very afraid. And every year when the fierce monsoon rains wreaked their vengeance on the earth the floor of the garage flooded and the little girl’s bare feet were cold and wet. One night in a fearsome storm our little girls’ mummy died – “of pneumonia”, they said, but our little girl didn’t understand. And so she and her widowed father and her five brothers and sisters left the garage in the big city and went to live on a tropical ...
