Foreign rapper Wale says 'I’m proud of Davido, Wizkid and Olamide’

Nigerian-American rapper, Wale, has expressed his admiration over the musical dexterity of his countrymen, Davido, Wizkid and Olamide, by stating that he is proud of them.

The rapper talked about Wizkid's influence on Drake's "Controlla" song, though no credit was given to the Nigerian singer according to him.

Wale was interviewed on American radio station, Hot 97, where he talked about the good music quality of Nigerian artistes and how he tried to get Wizkid signed to Jay-Z'sRoc Nation record label.
He said, "I’m proud of Davido and Wizkid, and Olamide".
"There’s a lot of dope artistes coming out of there. I know it was going to get there, because Nigeria’s got like a whole 60% of the swag in Africa come from Nigeria, and I have always known Wizkid."
"I remember bringing the idea of signing Wizkid to Roc Nation, to the guys over here like early on…but that was way before his time, but I knew what it was gonna be."
"There’s so much money there, as far as like Dubai, London and all of that, I knew it was going to get there."
"I got one with Wizkid with Diplo, I’ve got like seven songs with Wizkid on the internet. But again, it was before this. Like again, If I had held on to him and put him on, it would have been a different story."

Wale made comments about Drake's"Controlla" song, which according to him, had a lot of Wizkid's influence in it.
He mentioned that the lyrical content of the song were something you will find in a Wizkid kind of song.
"It sounds like a Wizkid song…The lyrics, everything. That’s just my opinion. I mean, he’s a phenomenal writer, performer and whatever, but I just feel like he sounds like Wizkid,"
"I’m not making no allegations, but I do feel like he had a lot of influence on ‘Controlla’. I mean I know Wizkid catalogue, he just sounds like the lyrics and everything."
"Something about ‘She wanna take my money and…’ Wizkid said that. Like ‘Take my money or have nmy money, it’s like Wizkid’s Hennessy or Enemies for 2pac."
"That’s Wizkid’s vibe. That’s his vibe. Like she wants my money, or I’ll give you my money, or dance for my money, that’s big talk in Nigeria."
Wale has made no secret about his interest in connecting with musicians from his home country, Nigeria.
This has brought some of these Nigerian artistes on a world stage.

I find Imelda Marcos story very interesting. Thought of sharing. Enjoy ONE LITTLE GIRL  Once upon a time there was a little girl. She was a beautiful little girl, everyone agreed. She had dark hair, pale skin and almond eyes. And she sang like an angel. Everyone agreed on that too. Until she was 10 our little girl lived in the big city. It was a sprawling, bustling, filthy place. She lived in a hovel. Well, it wasn’t so much a hovel as a rundown garage. And, when the wind blew at night, the doors and shutters creaked and banged and she was very afraid. And every year when the fierce monsoon rains wreaked their vengeance on the earth the floor of the garage flooded and the little girl’s bare feet were cold and wet. One night in a fearsome storm our little girls’ mummy died – “of pneumonia”, they said, but our little girl didn’t understand. And so she and her widowed father and her five brothers and sisters left the garage in the big city and went to live on a tropical ...

The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) on Thursday announced the dismissal of five lecturers and the termination of appointments of eight others in Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi. The dismissal and termination of appointments are in connection with sexual-related offences. The Executive Secretary of the board, Dr Masa’udu Kazaure, who made this known at a news conference in Kaduna, said 16 other lecturers were demoted, while four others were warned. He also said two others were advised, another two cautioned, while one lecturer would be mentored. He said the development was the outcome of an investigation following a publication by The Punch newspaper of April 9, 2016 with the title: `School Where Prostitutes Assist Male Students to Get Marks’. He said: “The summery of the publication indicated that students hire prostitutes or beg their girl friends to sleep with lecturers on their behalf in order to earn higher grades in their courses. “The lecturer chooses a hotel ...
