The West African Examination Council (WAEC), has debunked a report making the rounds by some online media platforms, that the council’s Registrar, Dr. Iyi Uwadiae, threw shades at the Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, by offering her a free arithmetic course.
According to a statement issued by the council’s head of public affairs, Abiodun Aduloju, WAEC described as ‘false and malicious’ the allegation, saying that such unruly demeanour was not in the character of its Registrar.
Reports had emerged online, alleging that the Finance Minister had accused WAEC of not remitting accurate funds to Federal Government coffers, which allegedly prompted Dr. Uwadiae to have said that her calculations were inaccurate and went on to offer her a free course in arithmetic.
